Thank You for 300+ Google Reviews — What the Feedback Taught Us
Bubbs & Bites has crossed 300 Google reviews with a 4.8 average. What regulars praise most, what we've changed from feedback, and what's coming next.
Belle
Cafe Owner & Host
As of this week, we’ve passed 300 Google reviews at Bubbs & Bites, the pet-friendly cafe in Kota Damansara — 4.8 stars on the counter. A proper milestone for a three-and-a-half-year-old neighbourhood cafe. Thank you, genuinely.
I thought it’d be useful to share what we learned going back through the reviews, what we’ve changed because of them, and what’s coming next.
What regulars praise most (the good stuff)
The three things reviewers repeat the most:
-
“Fluffy waffles.” This is by far the most-used word. “Crispy outside, fluffy inside” — you said it better than we could. That texture comes from the fresh-daily batter; no shortcut. More on what makes our waffles different.
-
“Warm service.” A lot of reviews name our staff by observation — “Belle”, “the lady at the counter”, “the boss”. We take this as the best possible compliment. Owner-operated service means we can actually remember your dog’s name on the second visit.
-
“Pet-friendly, really.” Reviews explicitly call out that we’re not one of those “outdoor-only” pet cafes. Indoor pets in carriers or diapers, every day, all day. It’s in our DNA.
What we’ve changed from feedback
Some changes you might have already noticed:
- “Jelak” warning on Salted Egg Chicken Pasta. One reviewer called it out months ago — the dish is rich, and first-timers occasionally over-ordered. Our staff now gently note it’s a flavour-forward plate and suggest sharing if you’re new to salted-egg sauces. The plate hasn’t changed; the heads-up is new.
- Hand-whisked matcha. A reviewer asked if we used syrup. We didn’t, but we’ve made it clearer on the menu and the board that matcha is whisked fresh per drink. Transparency matters when the drink is RM 15.
- Quiet-hour tagging on our Instagram stories. Work-from-cafe regulars asked for predictable quiet windows. We now share a weekly post marking the quiet and the busy mornings. See our quiet hours guide for the pattern.
- Pet diapers at the counter. Early reviews mentioned diaper forgetfulness. We now stock a range at RM 3 each so you never have to turn around.
What we haven’t changed (and won’t)
- Closed Wednesdays. Asked many times; staying. The team rest day keeps service warm on the other six days.
- No reservations. Walk-in only. For groups of 6+, message us on Instagram and we’ll try to hold a corner — but the cafe’s rhythm is first-come-first-seated and it works.
- Prices. Lots of reviews comment on our pricing being below upscale PJ cafes. We’re keeping it that way. Cheap-ish coffee, proper food, fair service — that’s the deal.
What’s coming next
A few things we’re working on quietly:
- Saturday Pet Play Brunch sessions. Monthly, starting May 3, 2026. Reserved corner, light icebreakers, complimentary pet treat with any main waffle. Details here.
- A proper menu refresh for the rainy-season weeks. Warmer specialty drinks (think cinnamon, cardamom) coming in June.
- A pet policy refresh on our website. Nothing substantive — just clearer photos of our carrier/diaper requirements so first-timers arrive prepared. See our pet policy.
Thank you — and, please, keep writing
If you’ve read this far and never left a Google review, consider it. It helps other pet parents and remote workers find us. Even a short one with a photo of your latte or your dog makes a difference.
And if you’ve got feedback that shouldn’t be public, email me. I read every single one.
See you this week.
